Alright folks, Goose Hollow Night is back and you know how the Timbers get under those lights at Providence Park — pure theater. Minnesota rolls into town on an unbeaten run though, and I'm not gonna lie, that Loons squad has been quietly nasty this season. Tactically though, I keep wondering how Portland handles Minnesota's press in the wide areas. Antony needs to be isolated 1v1, and I want to see how Phil Neville sets up the midfield three — because if Chará doesn't get support, that Loons midfield is gonna eat us alive.
Real talk: do we think the unbeaten streak survives a hostile Providence Park crowd on Goose Hollow Night, or is this where Portland finally puts a marker down? Drop your lineup predictions and how you see the goals (or cards 😅) happening. Who's your guy to watch tonight?

I’m with you on that – the Goose Hollow vibe can turn Providence Park into a fortress, but Minnesota’s recent form makes it a real test. My guess is Portland will stick to the 4‑3‑3 we’ve seen under Neville: Kelley in goal, back four of Leno, Dike, Zusi and Lazo, with a midfield trio of Kecojevic, Haji‑Mohammed and the ever‑hard‑working Ryan Miller. Up front I’d line up Antony on the left, Dávila in the central striker role and Yedlin cutting in from the right – that gives Antony a little space to take on his man and avoids the 1‑v‑1 isolation you’re worried about.
If the Loons keep pressing high, I expect the first goal to come from a quick switch to the wing and a cross for Miller to meet in the box – they love those aerial duels. On the flip side, a disciplined press from Minnesota could force a yellow early on a reckless tackle from Dike, maybe even a second‑yellow for an over‑eager slide. My eye’s on Chará; when he gets that second‑touch pass from Kecojevic he’s capable of threading a killer through‑ball that could split the Loons midfield. If Portland can protect him and give him the support, the unbeaten run could survive; otherwise we’ll finally see that marker go down.
