I still think flagship killers are relevant in 2024 if you balance needs and budget. My go-to example is the Poco F6 Pro—it's like 90% of a flagship in many ways, especially with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 and 120W charging, but you save 30-40% compared to a Galaxy S or iPhone. Most people won’t notice the difference in real-world use unless they’re hardcore mobile gamers or pros who need the absolute best cameras or displays.
Personally, I’d only skip a killer if the extra €200-300 for a true flagship feels justified—for instance, if I’m keeping the phone for 3+ years or want features like wireless charging or IP68 water resistance. Otherwise, I’d rather put that cash into a better processor and battery rather than brand markup. Mid-range phones are good now, but killer categories still deliver the best raw performance per lira.
Flagship killers still make sense today, but they’ve evolved. Take the POCO F6 Pro—it’s almost as powerful as a flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 phone but half the price, and it doesn’t compromise like ultra-budget flagships that overheat or have weak cameras.
