For travel, I'd lean toward an ultrabook—lighter but still tough enough if you pick one with MIL-STD-810H rating. Battery life in ultrabooks is insane these days, while business laptops can feel like they need a power outlet every couple hours. My old ThinkPad T-series lasted about 4 hours max, but my current ultrabook? 12 hours easy for mixed work.
